Trevor Wants a Wife

We had an interesting discussion about wives today. Trevor is all interested in marrying and wives and husbands. Here is how our conversation went today:

Trevor: Daddy is my wife.
Me: No, I'm Daddy's wife. You are Daddy's son.
Trevor: Then who is my wife?
Me: You don't have a wife yet. When you grow up you will marry a girl and she will be your wife.
Trevor: Like my sunday school teacher? She can be my wife.
Me: You want to marry your sunday school teacher?
Trevor: Ya, I want to marry her.
Me: Why do you want to marry her?
Trevor: Because she talks to me and she changes her clothes every day.

There are three teachers in his sunday school class (even though the class only has about 10 kids in it). I've walked in a few times on him just talking her ear off about everything he can think of. It's pretty cute.

Tonight at bedtime he wanted to make up his own prayers instead of saying the one we usually say. Of course he had about 10 different ones but here are a few I remember:

"Dear God. We need children and children need us. Keep them safe and healfy. Amen."

"Dear God and Jesus. God and Jesus watch the children to keep them safe and they are with the children all the time. Amen"

How sweet is that? And these were done is such a quiet whisper as to not wake up his baby sister who was sleeping a few feet away from us.
